Mint Julep

This is one of Steven’s favorite drinks to make when we have people over. It’s simple, refreshing, full of flavor and makes us feel a tad fancier than our usual beer menu for a party.

Mint Julep

3 fluid ounces good bourbon

2-3 mint leaves

1 1/2 fluid ounces mint simple syrup

Add liquids into a glass. Top off with mint leaves and ice.

Simple syrup

1 cup water

1 cup sugar

15-20 mint leaves

Boil sugar and water in a small saucepan on medium heat until dissolved. Remove from heat. Add mint and let cool. Strain mint leaves and transfer into a bottle. We use a squirt bottle that stays in the fridge.
